Russ’ Artist Rikey Austin has designed an extremely soft and loveable pink bear in recognition of her mum “Jilly’s” continuing fight against Cancer. Jilly was diagnosed with having breast cancer over 15 years ago and fought the disease, she has since been diagnosed with the cancer in her spine. Unfortunately, her cancer is terminal. Rikey wanted to show her mum how much she admired her strength and courage by designing a bear to be named after her, with £1.00 being donating towards finding the cure for cancer. Jilly comes delightfully packaged on a plinth box and with a informative handtag detailing the 5 key points for women to check themselves each month. Rikey and Russ are donating £1.00 for every bear sold to Cancer Research UK. This is being paid by Russ direct to Cancer Research UK. |
£1 from the sale of "Jilly" will be donated to Cancer Research UK to fund their life saving research into cancer £1 from the sale of "Jilly" will be paid to Cancer Research UK Trading Limited, which gives its taxable profits to Cancer Research UK |
Russ Berrie is proud to be supporting Cancer Research UK’s ‘All Join Together’ campaign with Rikey Austin’s Jilly Bear and aim to raise £50,000 for vital research into cancer. One in nine women will develop breast cancer at some point in their lives and over 40,000 women in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. That’s over 750 new cases a week, more than 100 a day. Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research, spending £25 million in the last year. This work covers all aspects of the disease, from understanding its molecular causes and investigating new ways to prevent and diagnose the disease, to developing improved treatments and researching the psychological aspects of breast cancer. If you’d like to support Cancer Research UK’s work, there are lots of ways that you can get involved.
